Gaziza Abdinabieva

She was born on December 3, 1948, in the village of Tartogay, Syrdarya District, Kyzylorda Region. In 1970, she graduated from the Acting Faculty of the Kurmangazy Almaty State Conservatory, studying under the Honored Art Worker of the Kazakh SSR, Professor Rabiga Kanybayeva, and the People’s Artist of the Kazakh SSR, Professor Yermek Obaev. From 1968 to 1993, she was an actress at the Kazakh State Academic Theater for Children and Youth. Since 1993, she performed at the Mukhtar Auezov Kazakh State Drama Theater (Almaty), continuing to appear on stage until the end of her life. In 2005, she became a member of the Union of Cinematographers of Kazakhstan. Gaziza Abdinaubiyeva was widely recognized by Kazakhstani television audiences as Aunt Roza or Margo in the country’s first TV series Perekryostok (1996–2000) and Sarancha (2001). One of her most notable supporting roles was Zaure in the film Layla’s Prayer, directed by S. Narimbetov. She toured in the CIS countries, Germany, Iran, and various cities in Kazakhstan.
