Rosario Brucato is an Italian film director, screenwriter, editor, and producer, born on November 23, 1983, in Nicosia, Italy. He developed a deep passion for cinema during childhood, particularly inspired by the suspenseful works of Alfred Hitchcock. He studied Arts, Music, and Performing Arts, completing his thesis on Hitchcock’s filmography. He later specialized in Performing Arts and Multimedia Production Sciences, focusing his final thesis on the reinterpretation of noir elements in the films of the Coen brothers. In 2016, he made his directorial debut with the zero-budget short film Don’t Open That Chat. In 2017, he wrote, directed, and edited The Different Being, a horror-suspense short that gained international recognition and won several awards in Los Angeles and New York. In 2020, he released The Vanishing Hitchhiker, inspired by the classic urban legend. The film received multiple accolades, further solidifying his reputation as a visionary filmmaker. In 2025, Brucato directed The Evil Brooch, a supernatural thriller exploring demonic possession, filmed at the historic Villa Malvolti in Venice. Throughout his career, he has remained dedicated to crafting impactful stories that blend suspense, emotion, and artistic depth, while continuing to draw inspiration from cinema’s greatest masters.
