Patricio Escartín

Patricio Escartín is a Mexican filmmaker best known for directing The Noise of Time (2024), a documentary short film that has been selected for nearly 15 festivals worldwide. The film has earned multiple nominations and distinctions, including recognition from El Universal diary as part of "The Best of Mexican Cinema 2024." Currently, Patricio is in his eighth semester of a Cinematography degree at the National School of Cinematographic Arts (ENAC) in Mexico, but nowadays he studies in the University of Essex, United Kingdom, through the UNAM exchange program. His filmmaking journey began with The Bastard Son (2019), his debut short film, which has garnered over 6,000 views on YouTube. That same year, his research in cinema earned him First Place in UNAM’s Youth Research Program at the National High School of UNAM. Patricio later studied at UNAM’s Dramatic Literature and Theatre College while gaining hands-on industry experience as a production assistant at companies like Guayabo Films and Landia, contributing to the production of music videos. During the pandemic, he furthered his education through online film courses before joining ENAC in 2021. He has been actively involved in various student and independent short films, taking on multiple roles, including Director of Photography (DP), Production Designer, Producer, Editor, Sound Designer, and Assistant Director (AD).
