Vincas Sruoginis

VINCAS SRUOGINIS, FILMMAKER. Vincas* is a New York & Vilnius-based filmmaker, commercial director, and editor. He began his career working on skateboard and snowboard films before graduating to advertising and film. His film, The Invisible Front, won best picture at the Vilnius International Film Festival and was nominated in four categories at the Silver Crane Awards. The film maintains a 100% Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes. In 2020, during the height of the COVID quarantine, Vincas filmed and edited a series of short documentaries using iPhones for the PBS American Portrait series. His short about teaching his son how to skateboard was featured in the companion book released by PBS in 2021.   From 2021 to 2024, Vincas edited a series of award-winning short documentaries about juvenile justice system reform in America. Since 2015, Vincas has been a voting member of the European Film Academy in Berlin, has sat on film festival juries, instructed film editing, and mentored young filmmakers. Vincas has directed and/or edited numerous commercial campaigns for clients ranging from major corporations such as Google to a small skateshop in the West Village. Vincas is currently in pre-production on a documentary supported by the Creative Europe MEDIA program and in post-production on a privately funded American-based documentary feature.    His work can be seen at https://faktion.tv/ and https://vincas.tv/ *Vincas (he/him) is pronounced “Vin-Suss” and is Lithuanian but he grew up in Jersey as a dual citizen.
